Add a project Skill

The skills CLI installs into .agents/skills/ in your project, which Cursor discovers. For manual ZIP installation, .cursor/skills/ is also supported; choose one location to avoid duplicate installations. Personal installations can use ~/.cursor/skills/.

Choose a tutorial below. Cursor’s MCP setup belongs in .cursor/mcp.json; it is separate from the folders containing installed Skills. Merge the server entry without replacing other MCP servers.

Work in Agent

Open the repository and ask Agent to use the installed Skill by name. Give the page and business requirements in the same message, so it can combine your existing project context with the Skill’s guidance.

Use the folio-rwa Skill for our real-world asset marketplace.
Read the Skill and its references first.
Keep our existing navigation and components.
Add category filtering, an asset detail panel, and precise allocation estimates.
Verify narrow screens and empty results.

Local and cloud workspaces

A personal folder on your computer is not automatically present in every remote workspace. For a shared repository workflow, keep the Skill in the project and review which files are committed with your team.
